Kitchen remodeling

Cabinetry, countertops, tile and the trades that go with them. Scoped honestly, priced before we start, and finished when we said.

Kitchen remodeling in the Twin Cities

D1 Construction Group remodels kitchens across the Twin Cities metro — cabinetry, countertops, tile, lighting, plumbing and paint, all handled by one crew. Most kitchens run eight to eleven weeks from demo to punch list, and the price is in writing before anything is ordered.

A kitchen refit by D1 Construction, before and after: new cabinetry, countertops and a full repaint

What we do

Cabinetry

New runs set level and square, or new doors and paint on boxes that are still sound. We tell you which yours are.

Countertops

Quartz, laminate or butcher block, templated after the cabinets are set so the seams land out of sight.

Backsplash and tile

Cut on site so outlets sit centered and edges finish clean — no slivers at the end of a run.

Lighting and electrical

Under-cabinet light, circuits for the appliances that need them, and outlets brought up to code.

Plumbing

Sink, faucet, disposal and dishwasher — moved or replaced, with shut-offs you can actually reach.

Drywall and paint

Patched, skimmed and painted, so the new kitchen does not sit in a room that shows its age.

How it goes

  1. 01

    We measure

Room, services, and what is behind the wall before anything is ordered.

  2. 02

    You choose

Doors, countertop, tile and hardware, with lead times checked.

  3. 03

    We build

Demo, rough-in, fit, finish, and a punch list you walk with us.

Styles we get asked for

Reference images to point at, not photographs of our jobs — bring your own and we will price that instead.

A finished cream kitchen with a peninsula, quartz countertops, subway tile and pendant lighting
Cream shaker, quartz counters, subway tile behind the range. The most requested kitchen in the metro, and for good reason.
A finished shaker kitchen in cream with a marble-look island, range hood and open shelving
Same palette with an island instead of a peninsula — better if the room can give up the floor space.

Straight answers

How long is a kitchen out of action?

Most of ours run eight to eleven weeks from demo to punch list. Cabinet lead times move that more than the building work does.

Can we keep the existing layout?

Usually, and it is the cheapest thing you can decide. Moving the sink or the range means moving services, and that is where the money goes.

Do you handle permits?

Yes, and they appear as their own line on the estimate rather than buried in labour.

What decides the cost?

Cabinets and countertops carry most of a kitchen budget. Keeping the layout keeps the plumbing and electrical where they are, which is the single biggest saving. We price from your actual room, in writing, before anything is ordered.

Can we live in the house during the work?

Yes — most families do. We wall off the work area, keep the dust down, clean up daily, and tell you ahead of time which days the water or power will be off.
