Flooring

LVP, hardwood, tile and carpet — supplied, fitted and finished. Including the subfloor nobody warns you about.

Flooring installation in the Twin Cities

D1 Construction Group supplies and installs flooring across the Twin Cities metro — luxury vinyl plank, hardwood, tile and carpet, including the subfloor work underneath. We check what is under your floor before we quote, so the number you get is the number you pay.

A living room floored by D1 Construction, before and after: luxury vinyl plank wall to wall

What we do

Luxury vinyl plank

Waterproof, warm underfoot, and forgiving over concrete. The workhorse for basements and kitchens.

Hardwood

New boards laid tight, or the floor you already have sanded back to bare wood and resealed.

Tile

Bathrooms, entryways, laundry — anywhere that gets wet — set flat on a surface that will not flex.

Carpet

Bedrooms and stairs, stretched properly, with the pad matched to the traffic it will take.

Subfloor and leveling

The part nobody budgets for. We check it before we quote, so the price does not move after demo.

Stairs and transitions

Nosings, landings and thresholds — the details that make a floor look fitted rather than laid.

How it goes

  1. 01

    We measure

Room by room, including whatever is under the old floor.

  2. 02

    You choose

Samples on site, in your light, not a showroom's.

  3. 03

    We fit

Furniture moved, old floor out, new floor down, site swept.

Straight answers

Do you move the furniture?

Yes, within reason. Pianos and gun safes we will talk about first.

Can hardwood be saved instead of replaced?

Often. If there is enough thickness left to sand, refinishing costs a fraction of replacing.

What about the subfloor?

We check it before we quote. Soft spots and squeaks are cheaper to fix while the floor is up.

What decides the cost?

The material sets the starting point and the subfloor sets the rest. Because we check what is under your floor before we quote, the number you get is the number you pay.

How long does it take?

A single room is usually a day or two. A whole level runs closer to a week once the trim and transitions are done properly — which is the part that makes it look right.
